YEAH, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

I haven't posted for a while, but I mostly post for my own entertainment because it seems kind of organised and satisfying. I love wearing my own clothes to college every day, it's really great. Really.

My dress is Lazy Oaf  which is awesome and everyone needs to check out now, and I got it in the ASOS sale for half price what whaaaaat.

Would like to point out the fact that there are burgers, chicken legs and flowers with smiley faces on my dress.

I made a googly eye headband and it makes an excellent noise when I shake my head, so make one if you want to feel like a human maraca.

Re-dyed my hair last night and put some blue bits in it and some of it went purple and the colours all together make me feel really nostalgic. Plus it looks cool.

Made a FREE PUSSY RIOT bracelet to show my support and so I can tell people about it when they ask me about it at college.

AND MY ROOKIE YEARBOOK CAME THANK YOU TAVI GEVINSON AND THE ROOKIE TEAM FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN I AM GOING TO SIT IN MY DEN WITH MY DISCO BALL ON AND READ THIS.

I've been listening to so much more music lately, and I want to make another playlist soon because I haven't made one in ages and making playlists is super satisfying. This is one of the songs I have been listening to:
It's such a good song YEAH YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

If you read all that, thanks

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM

A list of songs that I think are dreamy and are suitable to listen to when you're sitting in the last of the sun and stuff to make you feel like a piece of chiffon floating in the summer breeze lalalala

NOTHING NEW, BUT STILL COOL

I know it's nothing new to anybody and even if you have seen it a billion times, let us all visit this website  http://www.meadhamkirchhoff.com/ and cry over how cool everything is. How amazing would it be if I could start my new school with that badboy collection just hanging casually in my wardrobe so I could wear it everyday. I would do a catwalk down the corridors everyday. I would keep glitter inside my coat so I could explode with glittery amazingness. I don't even think I'd go to my classes, I'd just marvel in the beauty of my own clothes. WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY BUT CAN'T BECAUSE MY BRAIN IS MADE OF POTATOES IS THAT I WANT EVERYTHING MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF HAS EVER DESIGNED OKAY. Who knows, I might do another rip-off DIY on something, I really like that little heart with a face but I need to buy fabric paint and I have recently realised I've probably spent all my money on the ASOS sale - I bought a skirt with hearts for pockets and a dress with rainbows on it. It sounds like I'm making this up, but I'm not, it's really as good as it sounds.
These are just some of my favourites from the Fall 2012 catwalk show.

I love the colour of this dress, and the material, and the way it kind of looks like a night dress.

This one I thought was more school-y and I can completely see myself wearing this to college in September. I'll have to find something a bit more affordable maybe, unless it falls from the sky which would be cool.

There are no words. If you wore this to a job interview you would get the job. Even if you had no qualifications. Or weren't even applying for the job.

I used to have tights like this, but not as cool because they were probably from Marks and Spencer. The Batman necklace. Sweet Mary mother of Jesus, the Batman necklace.
If you haven't seen the new Batman yet, go see it, go see it now - I cried and laughed and was dangerously close to peeing my pants, both out of fear and not wanting to go to the toilet and miss anything.
Photos are from the internet, I forgot exactly where from because I was blinded by the awesomeness.

MORE DIY BECAUSE I DON'T GO OUT

I changed the name of this blog because I didn't like the old name and I saw my 'teen spirit' banner I have in my room and decided that would do. WHAT A GREAT STORY THAT EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR.
I bought like a massive bag of plastic gems from my art shop and have just been making everything sparkly and pretty because I have a glue gun and because I can. I did cover some sunglasses that I never wore in gems but I didn't get a great picture of them, but I will show you the tights I did today.

I burnt my thumb though, glue guns have their perks but they are also a dangerous tool when you're not paying attention because you're watching Doctor Who instead of trying not to glue a gem to your thumb with burning hot glue.

CHECK OUT MA VIDZ

This is my video I made for a competition and I would just like some feedback and some views so I can feel popular and cool. I don't really know who I'm talking to here, seeing as I have no followers, but SOMEONE is giving me views, unless it's just me, which is sad.

HICK

I watched Hick yesterday in a den that I made when cleaning out my room. DENS ARE SO MUCH FUN. Hick is now one of my favourite films, I couldn't hear some of it because it was bad quality but it was still such a good film and I recommend it to anyone who's okay with watching an R rated film.

This one is just because it is one of the best lines from a film ever and I bought felt tips.
HAPPY THURSDAY, NO ONE.

BUILD IT INTO PINNACLES AND SHRINES

It's quarter to two in the morning and I felt like making like an organised shrine out of some of my stuff on my windowsill. Taking the photos was a little bit risky because the shutter's really loud and everyone in my house is in bed, but no one came into my room complaining of a ruckus so I guess I'm okay. Looking at my little organised half of my windowsill is very satisfying, but the rest of the windowsill is kind of where everything went when I was making room for this, so it's not as organised but I shall work on it tomorrow because it's the summer and going out involves effort. Each of the headbands here are the ones that I made, the disco ball is something my sisters and I have had for a long time, the light up skull is from Sainsbury's from a Halloween long ago, mini chest of drawers I don't know. Same goes for the transparent box, I think it came with hairbands and stuff in it but no one was using it so now it is my jewellery box. I got the bubble gum dispenser one Christmas and it's amazing and the best thing is that I made money out of it, but now I have run out of bubblegum so I filled it with random crap that I couldn't figure out what to do with the first time I cleared out my room like a year ago. I found that little pink bead bracelet today and I think a friend made it for me years and years ago, anyway I thought it was really cute and it's the same with the Hama bead heart. Hama beads are the best. That copy of Slimeball Comics was sent to me when I ordered the Japanese Voyeurs B Sides and Rarities CD and I put my copy of Weetzie Bat there because I felt that it went with the whole feel of it. The flower headband around the disco ball is one I did not make (DUN DUN DUNNNN), it was braided into my hair like a crown when my friend and I were early for an MGMT gig at the O2 Brixton Academy, and the staff just randomly started doing peoples' hair with flowers in to kill time because we were so early. The transparent strips of pictures of Disney princesses came with a tracing kit thing my sister had, but I kept them in case I might use them again and I have proved my past self right, I love it when that happens.

To relate to the title of this post in a different way, the new Purity Ring album is unreal and I just bought tickets to see them in November for like £12 GO ME. This is one of my favourite songs it makes me feel so many emotions all at once.

FEET SHOES

Yeah, I made Comme des Garcons rip off shoes. I had some Topshop boots that were starting to bore me and I thought feet shoes looked really cool so I just painted it with acrylic then sprayed shoe protective spray over the top because I am too lazy to get leather paint (it's like £7 NO THANKS). I've been making loads of stuff recently because all my exams are over so I have nothing to do except make stuff, which is a good use of my time really. Take a gander at the headbands I made, I'm going to wear them to Latitude which I am going to ON THURSDAY.

I'll probably take pictures at Latitude, so I might post them if I feel my ego can take the rejection of no one commenting. HAPPY TRAILS FRIENDS

REBEL GIRL YOU ARE THE QUEEN OF MY WORLD

Bleached/ripped shirt, shiny skirt & Jeffrey Campbell tardy boots - even if I do say so myself, I love this combination. Wearing shiny things makes me happy. ISN'T THIS SKIRT THE BEST? It is my favourite thing in my wardrobe right now. When I feel sad, I think about my skirt. When I feel like I look too boring, on goes the skirt. When I just want to twirl and feel pretty, SKIRT. It can solve so many problems, it really can.
These Jeffrey Campbells I got for like half price and I couldn't not get them because I had been wanting some for a long long long long timen and HALF PRICE. Man, do I know how to shop.
Right now I am sensing the beginning of an obsession with Rebel Girl by Bikini Kill, it is such a good song. It's the perfect thing for me to be listening to right now as it helps me vent all the anger and frustration that sprouts as a product of endless hours of revision. I'm not even revising that much, it's just that I HATE science. But this song, it gives me energy and hope and oh you guys I think I might cry just listen to the song.

SURFIN' USA

Since my art exam finished I have been giving myself a 'well deserved break', despite the fact I still have all my other exams ahead of me. In the past week I have watched The Graduate, The Virgin Suicides, Heathers, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and The Truman Show - all of which are now in the long list of my favourite films. I don't know if you can see in these photos, but my socks actually kind of almost sort of match my top and it made me feel so coordinated.  There is a surfing dude on my top, and I love the Beach Boys THUS the title of this post. Also, my cat crept in to say hello so that's her tail peeping in the bottom of the third picture, she loves to get in the way of absolutely everything. I apologise for the lack of effort and writing in this post I am MEGA tired after a busy weekend of doing nothing.

SCHOOL DAY

So today was just a boring school day, but it was the first day of wearing no uniform for my year so I celebrated with a dinosaur T-shirt.

I love my new chunky shoes from Rokit, they hurt like a bitch but so completely worth it.

I felt a bit like Andy from The Devil Wears Prada today with my long skirt and chunky shoes.

A PRODUCTIVE DAY OF PROCRASTINATING

You know when you have so much to be doing that eventually you end up doing none of it? That is my day/week/life in a nutshell. I DID take some photos for art today but unfortunately I cannot show them off because 1.) I have no followers to show off to 2.) I'm pretty sure my sister would be against me displaying her face all over my blog, especially when I painted her face to make her look like she was just beaten up.

I decided to do something creative to procrastinate today so firstly I made THIS beauty of a headband.

Basically, I ordered 32 fake roses off eBay for £8.99 (£8.99 WHAT) and they came today and I got a little bit over excited and made this headband. I think it looks like a crown I FEEL LIKE A PRINCESS.

I also made this in tribute to one of my favourite bands, Japanese Voyeurs, who are sadly no more. I wanted pictures of flowers as the background, but all the pictures I could find were kind of boring and I really couldn't be bothered to make a collage out of them and then those dinging bells from cheesy game shows when someone gets an answer correct rang through my head and I thought of Stella McCartney. To cut a long, boring and pointless story short, I remembered she did these flower collage things and so I used them = EFFORT SAVED.
I love the song 'Get Hole' and you can listen to it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx4QxUoE05g. I sound like an advertisement.
Also, please excuse my two little fingers at the bottom of the page.

AN ODE TO THE SWINGIN' SIXTIES

I dedicate this post to the sophisticated 1960's. I love the 60's, everything was so neat and clean and pastel coloured. I really wish I had been around in the 60's but I was only late by 36 years...

Some of the things I love about the 60's

The style
Sophisticated, feminine and pristine, I love everything about it, how can you not love it? Oh, to live in a world where people still dressed like this. Don't get me wrong, I love style from all ages, but I do get the feeling that fashion has lost its cleanliness over the years. And that's not necessarily a bad thing because I'm also in favour of the dirty, grungey look but every now and then, wouldn't you love to see a group of mods hanging around on the streets?

The music
It's just so happy and bouncy - whenever I'm feeling down and losing faith in humanity (which is usually when I'm on my way back from school and someone's asked me who Brian Wilson is) I can take comfort in the fact that I can merrily skip home whilst listening to The Beatles. I swear, skipping is by far the best means of transport. These are some songs from some of my favourite bands to come out of the 60's, in descending order of the pictures above:
I Get Around - The Beach Boys
On the Rebound - Floyd Cramer
Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones
All Shook Up - Elvis Presley
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks
Sweet Jane - The Velvet Underground
Daydream Believer - The Monkees
Moi Je Joue - Brigitte Bardot
Paperback Writer - The Beatles
Type them into YouTube or whatever you kids listen to music on these days, and you'll instantly be in a good mood. With the exception of Behind Blue Eyes by The Who, because that's quite a sad song, but I had to put it in there because it's such a mellow song and you need a balance of happy and sad or else the whole world would be like the creepy people in the parallel universe in Coraline.

The hair and the makeup
Again, so neat and pristine. I respect anyone who can make a beehive with their hair and keep it in, my hair is way too thin to hold a beehive - I think I'd need a whole can of hairspray to keep it solid. This eye picture is a still from Tom Ford's 'A Single Man' which is one of the most beautiful films I have ever witnessed. I tried asking my friends in English if they had seen it because I needed to share my awe with someone, but the only person who actually replied to my question was my English teacher. I'm not sure what that says about my taste in films, but I don't care I am in love with that film. It's one of those films that when you watch it, you're going OH MY HAVE YOU SEEN HIS GLASSES I DON'T SEE HOW THIS FILM COULD BE ANY BETTER. Anyway, I am going off topic. Hair and make up. Yeah I wish I could have my eyeliner like Julianne Moore's everyday, it makes your eyes look MASSIVE and glamorous. The 60's completely nailed the perfect eyeliner, which makes it even more sad that nowadays you hardly see it around, apart from the winged eyeliner. I'm happy about the fact that you see people who have barely looked into the 60's wearing winged eyeliner, I'm not going to be one of those people that's like 'YOU don't love the 60's as much as IIII DO so you don't DESERVE that eyeliner' because I think it's nice that whether they know it or not, they're representing an inspirational and significant era for fashion through their eyeliner. It just shows that the good times shall never be forgotten.

The vehicles
I don't even know how to describe them, I just love the way they look. The way that they're like the olden days' idea of being modern and futuristic, so there's a lot of smooth metal shells and things, if you know what I mean. I don't think I do. I'm tired.

HAIR the Musical
I saw this once with my friend, it's not in England anymore but oh my lordy I have never been more inspired to become a hippy. The whole cast got completely naked for a song, which was awkward, but once they had put their clothes back on I could really enjoy the show without looking like a pervert. At the end, my friend and I got up and danced on the stage with the cast during the finale. The whole audience was invited but it turns out we were part of the very few willing people in the audience. Still, it was so much fun and is another reason to love the 60's.

Well, I have no followers so this post was purely for my own amusement but if you have read it, congratulations, I have respect for you.

I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE PHOTOS, THEY ARE ALL THANKS TO THE MAGICAL INTERNET.
